Melody Gardot & Sting - 'Little Something'

This lyric video for Melody Gardot & Sting’s collaboration ‘Little Something’ was created during the COVID-19 lockdown, and as such demanded an inventive approach. We decided to shoot a live action lyric video that centered on the song’s theme of looking back on a relationship that might not last forever.

To achieve this stunning result we staged multiple shoots as different stages of a relationship, shooting on both polaroid stills and nostalgic film grain video. These polaroid’s were then 'matched up’ with the lyrics, and the track, and then burnt whilst housed on custom built pieces of scenery, consisting of different Mexican-style tiles.

In the edit the speed of these high framerate clips was controlled and reversed, allowing us to create this unique video piece. It might not be the grandest scope of any video I’ve worked on, but it is certainly one of my favorites.
